Tidekeeper Development Revival!
Welcome back to the Hourglass Isles! The Tidekeeper team is resuming development on the game beginning today, February 20, 2025.
We are bringing to the table a backlog influenced by early feedback and playtester wishes. From a new weather system to more incentives to explore the Hourglass Isles, we're aiming to flesh Tidekeeper out and make it an even better experience over the next few months. While the game's main purpose is still to support education and skill-building, we think it has a lot of potential to be something general audiences can enjoy, as well.
Some of our team's current goals include:
- Post our first devlog (check!)
- Begin work on the weather system (watch out for those storms!)
- Clean up our current code and systems in order to make all the cool, new stuff easier to implement (someone find my rubber ducky!)
- Brainstorm new ideas for more minigames that players can encounter in tasks around the world (my mind is just racing with all the possibilities!)
We will release new content when it feels most appropriate; what we mean by this is that the game will have changed in such a significant way, and has been properly tested, that we feel comfortable sharing it with a wider audience for more feedback. This should generally be when we hit major milestones (ex. the weather system is complete and changes how players would interact with the game compared to the current version).
We will be posting these devlogs as we move along to keep everyone up to date with the game's progress. We thank you for your patience at the first early access release of Tidekeeper, and look forward to seeing it take shape based on everyone's feedback!
Signing off for now,
Kylie (Tidekeeper producer)
